  3. Change your address and update important accounts — Use USPS forwarding and update banks, subscriptions, and employers
  4. Buy renter's insurance — Compare quotes and start a policy before moving valuables in
  5. Test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors — Replace batteries and run a test of each alarm
