  1. Prepare workspace — Quickly make your desk ready for focused work.
  2. Adjust chair and monitor — Set chair height and monitor at eye level for ergonomics.
  3. Clear desk of non-work items — Remove clutter and leave only today's tools.
  4. Set lighting and temperature — Use natural light if possible; avoid screen glare.
  5. Boot devices and test internet connection — Run a quick speed test and restart router if needed.
  6. Open essential apps and files — Launch email, chat, calendar, VPN and your main project tools.
  7. Align schedule — Confirm today's meetings and priorities.
  8. Check calendar and confirm meetings — Verify times, links, time zones and prep documents.
  9. Review top 3 priorities for the day — Pick your most important tasks (MITs) to focus on first.
  10. Set communication status and availability — Update Slack/Teams status and add working hours.
  11. Send quick morning check-in to team — Share availability, key focus, and any blockers.
  12. Start a 25-minute focus block — Use a timer (Pomodoro) to begin focused work.
  13. Minimize distractions: mute notifications and close unused tabs — Temporarily silence nonessential apps and browser tabs.
  14. Keep water and a healthy snack nearby — Stay hydrated and avoid long hunger breaks.
  15. Schedule short breaks and movement — Add 5–10 min breaks every 60–90 minutes to reset.
  16. Log progress and plan tomorrow — Note wins, blockers, and top tasks for the next day.
  17. Run end-of-day shutdown: save files, sign out, and tidy desk — Backup work, close sensitive files, and clear the workspace.
