  1. Check destination health notices and entry requirements — Review official advisories, required vaccines, and testing rules for your destination.
  2. Schedule a travel health appointment 4–6 weeks before departure — See a travel clinic or your GP to review risks and vaccine timing.
  3. Review and update routine and destination-specific vaccines — Bring your immunization record and follow clinician recommendations.
  4. Start malaria prophylaxis if recommended for your route — Begin the medication on the schedule advised and finish the full course.
  5. Buy travel health insurance with medical evacuation coverage — Confirm medical limits, emergency evacuation, and COVID-related terms.
  6. Refill prescriptions and get extras plus copies of prescriptions — Pack at least one month extra and a doctor's note for controlled medicines.
  7. Pack a travel health kit — Assemble items to handle minor illness, dehydration, and small injuries.
